I emerged from the COVID lockdown in a full-on existential crisis that was compounded by a break up. In the spirit of “putting what you want out there,” I wrote a brochure about needing/wanting a rebound and started passing it out in the Bay Area. I was looking for something “low stakes” (as described therein) and all interested could reach out via the website.
The brochure when viral and, suddenly, it was getting written up in news. I was interviewed on Bay Area ABC tv where I hit on the newscaster and got him flustered. It’s all there for the viewing.
This was an authentic personal project but, more strategically, it was a social documentary project. It helped dust off my video/content chops and helped me reestablish an audience.
